چکیده
The superconducting transition temperature (TC) of rock-salt type niobium nitride (δ- NbN) typically varies between 9 to 17 K and the theoretically predicted value 18 has not been achieved hitherto. lowTCinδ- NbN assigned some structural disorder which is always present irrespective microstructure (polycrystalline or epitaxial), methods conditions adopted during growth thin films. In this work, we investigate atomic origin such suppression theTCinδ- films by employing combined experiments andab initiosimulations. Sputteredδ- with different were studied using synchrotron-based N Nb K-edge x-ray absorption spectroscopy techniques. A strong correlation superconductivity electronic structure reconstruction was observed. theoretical analysis revealed that under N-rich conditions, molecular N-interstitial defects assisted cation vacancies form spontaneously results into a smeared around Fermi-level. role smearing on theTCis thoroughly discussed.

Electronic structure of CeCo2 thin films studied by X-ray absorption spectroscopy
We present an X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) study at Ce L3-, and Co K-edges of CeCo2 thin films with the thickness varying from 30 to 140 nm. Ce L3-edge spectra exhibit the mixed valence nature and the tetravalent contribution increases with the thickness of CeCo2. The variation in the spectral intensity observed at Co K-edge threshold indicates that there is a change in 3d occup...

The role of thin metallic layer (Chromium or Nickel) in the crystallization of a-Si film has been studied using X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (XAFS). The films were grown at different substrate temperatures in two different geometrical structures : (a) a 200 nm metal layer (Cr or Ni) was deposited on fused silica (FS) followed by 400 nm of a-Si and (b) the 400 nm a-Si layer was d...

متن کاملEnergy-gap dynamics of superconducting NbN thin films studied by time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy.
Using time-domain terahertz spectroscopy we performed direct studies of the photoinduced suppression and recovery of the superconducting gap in a conventional BCS superconductor NbN. Both processes are found to be strongly temperature and excitation density dependent. The analysis of the data with the established phenomenological Rothwarf-Taylor model enabled us to determine the bare quasiparti...
